Generative AI Policy
International Journal of Educational Best Practices embraces the use of new AI-supported technologies in article writing. Authors who use AI tools in the writing of a manuscript, production of images or graphical elements of the paper, or in the collection and analysis of data, must be transparent in disclosing in the Materials and Methods (or similar section) of the paper how the AI tool was used and which tool was used. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts produced by an AI tool, and are thus liable for any breach of publication ethics." (COPE, February 2023). However, authors are not allowed to list AI as a co-author when AI or AI-supported technologies are used. Even when these technologies are employed to improve the language of the work, they must be utilized under human supervision, and the final version must be reviewed and verified by the author(s). This is because AI can make mistakes, and the responsibility lies entirely with the author(s). At the end of their submitted work, the author(s) must clearly state which AI tools were used and for what purpose. This statement will be included in the published article. Including this statement ensures transparency and trust among authors, editors, reviewers, and readers.
